Laser Surgery for Stones
This is also called laser lithotripsy. The surgery is minimally invasive and does not require opening up the body. An endoscope called a ureterorenoscope is passed into the kidney. A laser fibre, passed through the endoscope, transmits laser energy which breaks the stones. The procedure is done under anaesthesia. Patient does not feel pain or discomfort. After surgery, patient can go home same day or next.
